Altstore 1.4.8 simplifies untethered jailbreak with unc0ver 7.0.1. Riley Testus' Alstore update after releasing Altserver v1.4.7 comes this time around with support for iOS 15.1 and macOS 12 Monterey mobile and desktop operating systems.

This new version of AltStore, dubbed version 1.4.8, is now available to all users with official support for the updated unc0ver 7 jailbreak with Fugu14 support. Specifically, AltStore will guide users through the process of installing the unc0ver app and Fugu14 so that those with compatible devices can fully enjoy the untethered jailbreak experience.

Specifically, AltStore prompts the user to install the Fugu14 patch, which means the unc0ver jailbreak would not be attached and will not expire even after 7 days or after restarting the device. The user has the option of installing the untethered jailbreak or continuing without the patch. If they select the untethered jailbreak option, AltStore will perform a few additional steps, such as patching to unc0ver.

As previously reported, unc0ver v7.0.1 and Fugu14 overhaul with stability improvements, this solution is currently only for arm64e devices (iPhone XS, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12) running iOS 14.3 up to iOS 14.5.1.

The unc0ver jailbreak can still be used semi-tethered on other devices running iOS 11.0-14.3, but Fugu14 will not be able to untether these handsets until it receives an update with device support. arm64 and additional versions of iOS and iPadOS.

Also, it should be noted that the unc0ver jailbreak cannot be used to jailbreak arm64 devices (iPhone X and earlier) running iOS 14.4-14.5.1. The checkra1n jailbreak, on the other hand, can. So it should be interesting to see if the  checkra1n team plans to add support for the Fugu14 in an upcoming update.
