iOS 13.5 beta 3 is now available for developers

Today, Apple has made available iOS 13.5 beta 3 for developers. This new iOS 13.5 and iPadOS 13.5 third beta is arriving just two weeks after they released the second betas. Originally this iOS version was called the iOS 13.4.5 but Apple is changing the version number to 13.5. This recent developments taken by Apple is to include the codes necessary to run apps built using the exposure notification API, while Xcode 11.5 includes a new version of the iOS SDK with the exposure notification API.

Presently iOS 13.4.2, iOS 13.4.3, iOS 13.4.4, and/or iOS 13.4.5, iOS 13.5 is still in beta and may likely not become the next successor of the iOS 13.4.1 or iPadOS 13.4.1.

The iOS 13.5 brings the first version of Apple's COVID-19 exposure notification API alongside the first Xcode 11.5 beta which includes a new version of the iOS SDK. And since Apple is teaming up with Google for this, Google has also delivered its beta Google Play Services update with the exposure notification API and SDK to select developers who can test using Android Developer Studio.

Also, iOS 13.5 beta 3 features a small tweak to Face ID making it easier to skip Face ID unlock if you are wearing a face mask. Furthermore, there is the option to share Apple Music songs on Instagram Stories and Facebook Stories.

Another important fix in this iOS 13.5 beta 3 is the mail app. Some security vulnerabilities have been fixed and according to some sources, hackers exploited it to modify and delete email messages.

This iOS is still in beta state but those who want to give it a try before the official version is made public can do so via the beta program. While waiting for the final release of iOS 13.5 or iPadOS 13.5, note that Apple is currently only signing the iOS 13.4.1. So, if your previous iOS version was different from the iOS 13.4.1, downgrading will not be possible.
